Thermal Imaging
As InterNACHI certified Thermal Imaging inspectors, we use a state-of-the-art infrared cameras to find problems that are not always apparent to the naked eye. An infrared camera translates heat signatures and temperature differentials of objects into colors on a gradient scale. By evaluating these images, we can detect sources of energy loss, locate areas of moisture intrusion, pinpoint dangerous hotspots in the electrical system, and uncover other problems, such as rodent infestations.
Thermal imaging can detect sources of energy loss, including:
- Heat loss and air infiltration in walls, ceilings, floors, windows and doors
- Damaged and/or malfunctioning radiant heating systems
- Air-conditioning leaks
- Broken seals in double-paned windows
- Inadequate or missing insulation
Thermal Imaging can locate moisture intrusion, including:
- Plumbing leaks
- Hidden roof leaks before they can cause serious damage
- Missing, damaged or wet insulation
- Water and moisture intrusion around penetrations and at the foundation or building envelope that could lead to structural damage and mold
Thermal Imaging can find hot spots in the electrical system, including:
- Circuit breakers in need of immediate replacement
- Overloaded and undersized circuits
- Overheated electrical equipment and components
- Electrical faults before they cause a fire
